Who should Manchester United sign next?

Image
Manchester United fans have been left sleeping with one eye open after football pundits have been praising their sides performances against shellshocked West Ham United and Swansea City, where the Red Devils beat both Premier League sides 4-0. United fans are somewhat unaccustomed to hearing such high praise, with the club being absolutely bashed by pundits and media ever since Sir Alex's retirement. The praise, however, is for good reason. Manchester United players celebrating Eric Bailly's goal vs Swansea (image by  manutd.com ) Manchester United's display against West Ham could arguably have been their best since Sir Alex left in 2013. Whilst the lineup contained some noticeable absentees (i.e. cult-hero Ander Herrera and new signing Victor Lindelof), there were also worries about Paul Pogba playing in a midfield two with Nemanja Matic (when it was thought that the Serbian was brought in for the sole purpose of freeing up Pogba in a middle three alongside Herrera)

Nike using Neymar to merge universes?

Image
On July 24th,  Complex  and Joe La Puma  dropped their most hyped episode of their Sneaker Shopping segment on YouTube, featuring Brazilian and PSG footballer, Neymar. Neymar is not the first footballer to appear on the show, since DeAndre Yedlin did appear 2 years ago. With all due respect to DeAndre, Complex having Neymar on the segment is a different beast altogether. Neymar's feature is not entirely left-field as the Brazilian did collaborate with Jordan Brand on the Retro 5 Low silhouette last year. The collaboration was comprised of an entirely reflective, speckled 3M upper with infrared detailing and a dually-branded NJR x JB box. In fact, even this collaboration was not an entirely pioneering power move by Nike, as they did a similar thing with Ronaldinho and the Air Force 1 Low in 2006. There's just something about it this time, though, that feels different. Neymar stands besides his football boots made in collaboration with Jordan Brand whilst wearing his Jordan

Skins SA: making your device a true extension of yourself

You know that anxiety you have when you think you've lost your phone or laptop? That quick nanosecond when the world seems to stop and you just go "oh no!" in your head? That very moment is indicative of the dependency we have on our devices in 2017. I do not share the pessimism of being reliant on devices, as my father does, being that I am a Computer Science major. Technology has been a major part of my life. I have grown up with the internet, and as such my lifetime can be expressed succinctly using a selection of memes and viral videos - something which aptly represents the globalized world we now live in. When I first heard someone describe a device as an "extension" to oneself, it admittedly sent a shiver down my spine. It is a an eerie thought. One which immediately makes me think of vivid Sci-Fi's like iRobot, Ex Machina and Her. As the years have passed, however, I understand the sentiment. Your device is no less (and no more) an extension of
